The Bike of Tomorrow-Today...

As if the VFR1200F weren’t trick enough in its standard, manual six-speed form, this standard-setting machine also comes equipped with one of the most advanced and Formula 1-esque features to ever grace a Honda motorcycle: DCT, a.k.a. Dual-Clutch Transmission. Opt for push-button six-speed “paddle-style” shifting, or go totally automatic (yep, twist the throttle and the transmission will shift itself up and down through its gears). Better still, you can choose from two modes in Automatic: “D” for regular cruising, or “S” for a sportier pace.

2013 Honda VFR1200F Review

The Bike of Tomorrow-Today...

The VFR1200F embodies a futuristic sport motorcycle created for the sheer joy of riding. Packed with loads of advanced technology developed for the world of MotoGP racing and created with Honda-style innovation, the VFR1200F has written a whole new chapter in the lore of Honda V-4 machines. Innovations such as Traction Control and an optional second-generation Dual Clutch Transmission make this bike the standard-bearer for forward-thinking technology in motorcycles. Yet at the same time, there are still plenty of qualities such as an impressively strong engine, excellent rider accommodations and surprising fuel economy that make the VFR1200F the perfect ride, here and now.

Where do you even start with a machine like Honda’s revolutionary VFR1200F? Here’s a machine that showcases innovation and technology like a motorcycle transported from the future. Start with its super-compact Unicam® design 1237cc V4 engine, fueled by Honda’s first-ever Throttle By Wire system. Traction Control? You bet. And together with Honda’s Combined Braking with standard ABS, that makes the VFR one of our most impressive machines when it comes to dealing with challenging traction under acceleration or braking.

But perhaps most striking is the VFR’s Honda Dual-Clutch Automatic Transmission: Six speeds, two clutches, and your choice of changing gears with a pair of F1-style paddle shifters or letting the bike shift itself. And there’s also a second version of the VFR1200F equipped with a conventional six-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch.

Warp Drive.

One of the most advanced streetbike powerplants ever, the VFR1200F’s 1237cc Unicam®-head V4 is state-of-the-engine-art from top to bottom end.

Dual-Clutch Transmission.

Shift gears, on the fly, with a simple flick of your left finger or thumb? That’s just one of the modes on the VFR1200F’s incredible new dual clutch transmission (optional).

Performance Art.

The VFR1200F’s layered concept fairing offers a smooth, unified, fastener-free surface right off the MotoGP circuit. Never have aerodynamics and aesthetics worked so well together.

2013 Honda VFR1200F Features and Benefits

Trip Computer

In addition to an already full-featured LCD/analog instrument package, we've added a trip computer that adds current MPG, average MPG, and miles-to-empty information.

Layered Concept Fairing

The VFR's unique bodywork fuses both the cowl and fairings together to create a single smooth, unified, aerodynamic surface. Also, note what you don't see: no visible fasteners break up the fairing's lines. This design also routes appropriate airflow in separate paths for both engine cooling and rider comfort.

Throttle By Wire

The VFR1200F features Honda's Throttle-By-Wire system to ensure outstanding response and seamless acceleration across the engine's rev range. The Throttle-By-Wire system incorporates an Electronic Control Unit (ECU) to process information from the rider throttle control input and throttle valve position to return accurate throttle response.

Differential Cylinder Bank Layout

Compact engine size was critical, so our engineers placed the VFR powerplant's V4 rear cylinders side by side but close together, while the front cylinders are more widely spaced. This makes the engine narrower near the rider's feet and allows the entire chassis and seating area to feature a distinctly narrowed profile.

Combined Braking System w/ ABS

The VFR's Combined Braking System (CBS) with ABS melds the benefits of Anti-Lock Braking (ABS) with the measured application of front brakes when the rear brake lever is used. During front brake lever activation, all the right-side caliper pistons are applied, along with four of the pistons on the left side. When the rear brake is applied, the other two left-side pistons are actuated. To maintain equal braking force when using just the front brake, the right-side pistons are slightly smaller than the left-side pistons.

1237cc V4 Engine

Drawing on 30 years of V4 technology and racing success, Honda designers gave the VFR1200F what is surely the most advanced streetbike engine yet: a fuel-injected, liquid-cooled 1237cc, 76-degree, V4 brimming with low-end torque. Overall, it's more compact than the engine from the 781cc Interceptor.

Slipper Clutch

We told you the VFR's parts manifest reads almost like that of a factory road racer. Example: A trick slipper clutch mechanism that moderates the effect of deceleration torque on the rear wheel, allowing engine braking to slow the bike without causing the rear tire to chatter.

Dual-Clutch Transmission

Available as an option to the standard six-speed manual model, our dual-clutch, automatic transmission allows push-button six-speed “paddle” shifting. You can also choose from two “automatic” modes (D-mode for regular operation and S-mode for sporty riding), and let the transmission shift for you.

Comfortable Seating

The seat for 2013—a supportive, vacuum-molded dual-seat design—offers increased comfort for both the rider and passenger. It features a flat and expansive seating area, with the space to adopt a range of different seating positions. This improves comfort during long days on the road. And your passenger also gets easy-reach grab handles and comfortable footrests.

Low-Centerline Driveshaft

Take a close look at the VFR1200F and you'll see that the driveshaft joins the transmission far below the swingarm pivot (with most shaft-driven bikes the pivot is on the same plane). The result? The VFR1200F delivers a more neutral handling platform under both acceleration and deceleration. You get the best of both worlds: The virtually maintenance-free aspects of shaft final drive and the superior handling character that only a chain-drive system has previously been able to offer.

Exhaust System

Take a look at the VFR1200F's exhaust system. Notice the two outlets in the silencer? The lower one is always open, while the upper outlet only opens at higher engine and vehicle speeds. That lets our engineers fine-tune the exhaust back pressure for optimal performance and sound. It's a great example of how technology can take something as simple as a muffler and use it to improve your riding experience.

Traction Control

VFR1200F also benefits from Honda's Traction Control system. If the system believes wheel-spin is imminent, engine power is momentarily reduced, maintaining traction. Together with the VFR1200F's C-ABS Combined Antilock Braking System, Traction Control adds to your security and peace of mind, even in difficult riding conditions.

2013 Honda CBR250R ABS Key Features

Light, Narrow, Low.

Because it’s a single-cylinder machine, the CBR250R ABS is narrow, and with its low 30.5-inch seat height and light 359-pound curb weight, putting your feet down in parking lots or at stoplights can be a lot easier.

The Power of One.

The CBR250R ABS uses a single-cylinder engine with fuel injection, double-overhead cams and a counterbalancer. Sure that’s tech talk, but the architecture offers some very real advantages. Maybe the most important is power delivery: a single offers the kind of torque and midrange power that’s well suited for all levels of riders.

Stop With Confidence.

Honda’s Anti-lock Brakes System (ABS) is a great option to add to the CBR250R ABS. It will have you ready for less than ideal road conditions.

Combined Anti-lock Brake System - Our Combined ABS can be a big help in making controlled stops in less than ideal conditions. Like on wet pavement, or when there's sand on the road or other debris. It's a perfect choice whether you're using your new bike as a commuter or just riding it for fun since it helps you stop with added confidence.

Analog/Digital Instrumentation - The CBR250R ABS's digital gauges with analog tachometer provides vital riding information in a styled, hi-tech instrumentation package.

Layered Style Fairing - Take a close look at the CBR250R ABS's unique bodywork, which is designed for style and functionality. It routes airflow for both engine cooling and rider comfort, while creating a unique sportbike style.

Fuel Injection - Fuel injection means the new CBR250R ABS starts right up, even in cold weather. Compared to a carbureted bike, it also helps reduce emissions and enhance performance and fuel economy.

Single-Cylinder Engine - A single is the perfect choice for a bike like the CBR250R ABS. It's light, simple, returns excellent fuel economy, and features a broad powerband with plenty of low-revving torque–just what you want in a first motorcycle.

Counterbalance Shaft - Because it features a counterbalancer, the CBR250R ABS engine is a smooth runner. You get the narrow overall width and power advantages of a single along with the smoothness of a multi-cylinder bike.

Pro-Link® Rear Suspension - The CBR250R ABS uses a single-shock pre-load adjustable rear suspension that not only gives you a smooth ride, but helps enhance handling as well, just as on some of our larger sport models.

Low Seat Height - A low 30.5" seat height does more than help make sure the CBR250R ABS fits a wide range of riders. It makes it easier to put your feet down at stoplights and in parking lots–a big confidence builder.

Passenger Ready - A separate passenger seat, integrated grab rail, and standard passenger footpegs mean you can take a friend along when you go riding–another example of the CBR250R ABS's versatility.

Underseat Storage - Removing the rear passenger seat provides a lockable area to throw a map, gloves, or a spare set of sunglasses.

Disc Brakes - The new CBR250R ABS features front and rear hydraulic discs for excellent stopping power and brake feel. The single front disc helps keep things simple and lowers unsprung weight, too.

- Transferable one-year limited warranty; extended coverage available with a Honda Protection Plan.

Twin 55-watt H7 halogen headlights and multi-facet reflectors on the CBR500RA ABS give the front end a unique look and also project plenty of light on the road for visibility.

Supersport Styling
This aerodynamic bodywork also provides significant advantages in air management for added rider comfort, along with a low drag coefficient and effective cooling.

Disc Brakes
Front 320mm wave-style disc brake and 240mm rear provide strong stopping power.

DOHC Parallel-Twin-Cylinder Engine
Honda twins are famous for their versatility, and the new CBR500RA ABS engine is one of our best ever. Using the same piston bore size as our CBR600RR sportbike, the parallel-twin engine offers accessible performance across all RPM ranges.

Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI)
Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) continuously monitors several variables to ensure the correct fuel mixture is delivered for the existing riding and atmospheric conditions for a crisp throttle response throughout a wide variety of riding.

Stepped Two-Piece Seat
The new CBR500RA ABS offers a step seat with a low height. Perfect for around-town riding or winding roads, it also offers plenty of room for a passenger, and is specially designed to fit a wide range of riders.

Steel-Tube Frame
A motorcycle’s frame is the basis for its handling. A new take on a classic construction, the CBR500RA ABS’s diamond-shaped 35mm steel-tube mainframe ties to the engine with four mounts, offering a rock-solid foundation for a superior ride and handling.

Pro-Link Rear Suspension
A sophisticated chassis with Honda Pro-Link® rear suspension, with 9-stage preload and 4.1 inches travel, gives you a comfortable ride over small bumps, while capably absorbing bigger bumps to increase riding comfort and handling.

12-Spoke Cast Wheels
Strong and stylish, the CBR500RA ABS’s aluminum cast wheels are easy to keep clean, look great, and are another feature that just makes sense.

Rear Passenger Grips

Sturdy rear passenger grips offer a firm handhold for your passenger or tie-down points for smaller items.

2012 Victory Vegas Review

o An iconic cruiser look that turns heads. Performance that turns mindsets.
o Classic styling and a comfortable low riding position.
o The cruiser motorcycle that helped re-define and re-imagine the new generation of American cruisers has returned in 2012 - better than ever.o The Victory Vegas custom cruiser motorcycle returns this year with the ability to handle any road on the map, without sacrificing even a tiny bit of power. Instead, we've made it more ferocious than ever with the addition of a 106 cubic-inch Freedom V-Twin engine that rockets you along with 97 horsepower for the ultimate custom cruiser motorcycle experience.

Vegas Custom Cruisers

Don't take our word for the unprecedented performance or the undeniable cruiser motorcycle style. Find a local Victory motorcycle dealer around you and ask to test drive one of the new 2012 Victory Vegas custom cruisers. Follow your passion to ride with a spin on one of these bikes, and you'll understand why so many have been converted already.

PROVEN OUTSTANDING RELIABILITY
Victory has a track record of consistently outstanding reliability and dependability, which has led to the industry's highest customer satisfaction ratings. This proven reliability, along with the new transmission design, allows Victory to recommend extended oil service intervals for 2011 drivetrains.

o The recommended oil change interval for 2011 models is every 5,000 miles (8,000 km).
o Less-frequent oil changes results in a lower cost of ownership.

NEW TRANSMISSION
The Victory drivetrain team scrutinized every component of the engine and transmission and fine-tuned the designs and performance of numerous parts. Approximately 40% of the drivetrain is new for 2011, with the transmission receiving so many improvements it is virtually a new transmission.

The changes: improved manufacturing efficiency and quality assurance; enhanced drivetrain's already-impressive reliability; improved engine performance; and, for riders, improved ridability and delivered a more appealing-sounding transmission.

o In terms of operating sound, selected modulation frequencies have been eliminated. This produces a more-appealing sound - consistently in each gear. In 4th and 6th gears in particular, gear whine has been reduced.
o Driveline lash has been reduced by 66%.
o "Neutral Assist" has been added to make it easier for a rider to shift into neutral when stopped. This will reduce the rider's effort, will reduce clutch wear and will lessen the performance demands on the oil.

ENHANCED INSTRUMENTATION
All cruisers now have instrumentation similar to that of the Victory Cross Roads, which provides a rider with a wealth of information in one, easy-to-read location. The new instrumentation includes:

o An analog speedometer, which may be set to show MPH or KPH.
o Blue backlighting.
o A large LCD that displays: Clock (time of day is viewable at all times), gear position, tachometer and diagnostic readouts for Victory dealership service technicians.
o The gauge face includes lights such as high-beam and neutral indicators and the oil warning light. Cruisers no longer have these indicator lights atop the triple clamps.
o The Cross Roads instrumentation also has an always-viewable fuel gauge.

CHASSIS CHANGES ACROSS THE LINEUP
All brake calipers, rotors, lower belt guards, and floorboards are black.

o All left- and right-hand switch cubes are black, as are the audio control switch block and cruise control switch block.
o The triple clamp is black on all models except the Vegas Jackpot (which retains its chrome triple), and the Victory Cross Roads (which retains its brushed finish).
o A new side stand on each model features an integrated hooked-end design for easy locating and easy control of the side stand.
o All cruiser exhausts have a larger outlet for improved sound quality and a lower exhaust note.

2012 Victory Vegas Model Highlights
- 113 ft lbs torque
- Low seat height (25.2 inches)
- Split-tail gas tank and spine

2012 Victory Vegas Features and Benefits

106 CUBIC-INCH FREEDOM V-TWIN
Whether you're finding your way across town or cruising the city's glass canyons, the Freedom V-Twin power plant delivers 97 horsepower and 113 ft lbs of green-light torque with ultimate authority. The heart of every Victory Cruiser machine, it informs the world of your arrival with every crack of the throttle.

6-SPEED OVERDRIVE TRANSMISSION
The best performing transmission on the street collects the power generated by the massive V-twin and allows the Vegas cruiser to roll fluidly between the curbs. Helical-cut gears ensure that each shift will be as smooth and clean as the bike itself.

113 FT LBS TORQUE
Press the starter and you can feel deep in your chest an eruption of low-end torque. With each precision-tuned piston stroke, the Freedom V-Twin's 4-valve overhead cams and perfectly matched 6-speed overdrive transmission promise to provide unmatched throttle response, acceleration and passing power.

PULLED-BACK BARS
Any road. Any time. The handlebars are designed for all kinds of riding since their ready reach means easier steering for riders of all sizes.

LOW SEAT HEIGHT
The low 25.2" seat height works in tandem with the pulled-back handlebars to ensure a firm sense of mastery over the machine. Combine that with a more rearward placement of the foot controls and you have a rider who stays comfortable from points A to B and all the way to Z.

SPLIT-TAIL GAS TANK AND SPINE
One thing that sets the Victory Vegas apart from the rest of its cruiser family is its split-tail gas tank. The other is the way the tank's sculpted sides lead to a raised center spine, adding further testimony to the bike's aggressive spirit.

AVAILABLE CRUISE CONTROL AND HEATED GRIPS
Opting for precise, automotive-style cruise control means your right hand can just hang on and enjoy the ride. Choosing heated grips can add precious road time to both sides of summer, and may be the best means of enhancing your road warrior reputation.
