= 3rd generation fuel injected R1 powerplant
= Serious sports focus with comfortable ergonomics

ENGINE
Ultra-lightweight 998cc, DOHC, 20-valve, liquid-cooled, 40 degree inclined, in-line four-cylinder engine. The engine has been tuned to provide outstanding performance and excellent passing performance.

The crankcases, pistons, cylinder and cylinder head are based on the 3rd generation R1 powerplant ('04 to '06).

Combustion chamber design and squish area has been optimized for maximum sports performance. The compression ratio for the FZ1 is 11.5:1. Redline is set at 12,000 rpm and features a "soft" rev limiter to protect the engine.

Special lightweight, high lift, high performance intake and exhaust cams help to provide incredible horsepower and fast engine response. Cam profiles and the cam timing are designed to provide for more low to midrange power (Vs R1) .

Automatic cam chain tensioner reduces both maintenance and engine mechanical noise.

Lightweight, 3rd generation R1 based crankshaft provides quick engine response.

Connecting rods are carburized for strength and durability and use a nutless design. The lower end "cap" of the rod is made from the same piece of material as the upper portion, this design is known as "fracture splitting". This design aids establishing true big end roundness and greater precision in con rod dimensions for great durability.

Closed deck cylinder design allows the cylinders to be spaced more closely together, allowing a narrower engine. The cylinder block is a stand-alone part. The benefit if this design is improved sealing, and easier serviceability.

Ceramic composite plated cylinder "bores" are a "liner less" design with the ceramic coating sprayed directly on the aluminum block to ensure great heat dissipation for consistent power delivery, reduced friction and reduced weight.

Short skirt, lightweight forged pistons reduce mechanical vibration and improve throttle response.

3rd generation R1 inspired "stacked" 3-axis gearbox / clutch design stacks input/output shafts to create a low center of gravity and keeps overall engine size shorter front to back. As a result, the stacked design gives the engineers the freedom to place the engine in the frame for optimum front to rear weight balance and thereby maximizing handling

Smooth shifting 6-speed transmission features optimized gear ratios for maximum performance in the "real world". 5th and 6th ratios are wider (taller) for reduced engine rpms at highway speeds for more relaxed cruising.

Compact, heavy duty, multi-plate clutch ensures consistent, positive engagement and uses coil springs (5) and paper based fiber plates (9) to reduce weight.

Mikuni fuel injection system is based on the 2006 R1 design, featuring 45mm throttle bodies fitted with T.P.S. (Throttle Position Sensor). This style of fuel injection uses dual throttle valves. The secondary or sub throttle valves are motor driven and control the intake air volume for optimum throttle response.

The actual injectors are Denso "long nose" type injectors with a high dynamic range and 4-spray holes for excellent power and response across the entire rev range.

Specially designed 8.2-liter air box with intake air temperature sensor maximizes performance. A viscous paper-type air filter is utilized.

The fuel injection's lightweight Electronic Control Unit (ECU) utilizes a powerful 32-bit processor for faster control of the injection process. The compact design also reduces weight.

Yamaha's patented Exhaust Ultimate Power Valve (EXUP) monitors engine rpm and adjusts exhaust flow for maximum performance at all rpms with no flat spots. This system also optimizes fuel economy and reduces emissions.

4 into 2 into 1 exhaust system features stainless steel exhaust pipes and a short design silencer / muffler. The header pipe length has been optimized for maximum power delivery. This system is fitted with two 3-way honeycomb catalyziers with an oxygen sensor to reduce harmful CO and HC exhaust emissions.

High-efficiency curved radiator features compact dual ring-type fans for maximum cooling efficiency. This rad and fan design produces more airflow than conventional flat design rads to maintain optimum engine temperatures for consistent power output. The curved design also allows a shorter wheelbase.

Large, liquid-cooled oil cooler maintains stable lubricant temperatures for extended engine life. Convenient spin-off oil filter is used.

Convenient clutch cover sightglass ensures easy oil level inspection.

Maintenance-free transistor-controlled ignition ensures great performance at all rpms.

Air Induction System (AIS … not ram air) reduces harmful HC and CO exhaust emissions for a cleaner environment.

CHASSIS/SUSPENSION
Die cast lightweight aluminum twin spar frame provides an optimized rigidity balance for incredible sports handling. The engine is a stressed member of the chassis, allowing a lighter main frame design without sacrificing stability and light, agile handling qualities.

The riding position which is one of the most important features of the FZ1, it offers a balance between a sporty riding position and great rider comfort.

Key chassis geometry figures include: 51% front and 49 % rear weight balance, 25 degrees of rake and 109 mm of trail. The 47 degree lean angle highlights the FZ1 sporty side.

Lightweight, detachable rear sub frame allows easy access to rear suspension components and reduces costs in the event of a "loop-out".

C.F. (Controlled Filling) die cast truss-type rear swingarm offers great rear wheel control and traction for razor-sharp cornering and superb stability at speed. The long 629mm arm helps to minimize the effect of "chain tensioning" on the bike's handling.

43mm Kayaba inverted cartridge style fork is fully adjustable and offers 130mm (5.1") of wheel travel. This fork features independent damping adjustments for compression and rebound via a one way port that separates the two functions. Adjustments include: 9-way spring preload, 26-way compression damping and 26-way rebound damping. The adjustable design allows the rider to tailor suspension settings to match rider weight and road /track conditions to maximize handling and suspension performance.

Lightweight aluminum upper triple clamp features a 25mm offset for sportier handling.

Link-type Monocross rear suspension features an adjustable Kayaba shock that allows the rider to tailor suspension settings to match load and road conditions. Adjustments include 7 - way spring preload, and 12-way rebound damping. Rear wheel travel is 130mm or 5.1"

320mm dual front discs are squeezed by ultra rigid R6 inspired monoblock, 4-piston calipers which provide outstanding stopping power and lever feedback. The master cylinder utilizes 16mm piston for outstanding stopping power with less lever effort.

245mm rear disc is squeezed by a lightweight single piston slide-type Nissin caliper with sintered metal brake pads.

Lightweight cast-aluminum 5-spoke wheels reduce unsprung weight for great handling characteristics. The front wheel is an MT3.50-17 and is fitted with competition-spec 120/70-ZR17 tire, while the rear wheel is a MT6.00-17 fitted with a wide 190/50-ZR17 rear radial.

Eye catching, half fairing offers surprisingly good wind and weather protection. It features R1 inspired dual "cat eye" halogen headlights.

Conventional handlebar design features a more upright positioning for maximum everyday comfort. Handlebar is mounted above the top triple clamp.

18-liter fuel tank offers a slim design with great knee grip. The reserve portion of the tank is 3.4 litres.

Separate rider and passenger seats offers exceptional solo or two-up comfort.

One-piece instrumentation features analog tachometer, digital speedometer, dual tripmeters, fuel gauge, clock and new outside air temperature display. The back lighting on the instrument can be adjusted to suit the rider's preference.

The looks and style you crave along with performance and refinement you only get from a Star Motorcycle.

The all new 2011 Yamaha Stryker, a machine designed to be ridden... and admired. Chopper inspired styling, attention to detail and mechanical function blend together in a stunning new mid class "chopper". One ride and you will know we got it right. The style, the performance and that special attitude is intoxicating.

Strykes fear into everything else.

The all new 2011 Stryker by Star Motorcycles is the coolest bike to roll off the assembly line since the Yamaha Raider took the industry by storm. With its raked out front end and "fists in the wind" riding position, this bike is pure attitude. And with fuel injection, a 1304cc V-Twin, and a beautiful final belt drive, the 2011 Yamaha Stryker churns out plenty of low-end torque that gets to the ground in a very satisfying way. It's time for an attitude adjustment!

Powered by a liquid-cooled, 1304cc V-twin powerplant, the new Stryker offers an unparalleled riding experience.

The looks are guaranteed to turn heads while the engine performance and sound will keep you grinning all day. But there is more. It is hard to put into words but one ride and you will discover its unique "bad boy" attitude.
2011 Yamaha Stryker model Features
• 1304cc fuel injected V-Twin
• Chopper inspired styling and attitude

ENGINE
• 1304cc (80 cubic inch), liquid-cooled, short stroke, SOHC, 4-valve per cylinder, fuel injected, 60° V-twin powerplant pumps out impressive power and torque for excellent cruising performance.
• Uneven firing interval, bore & stroke dimensions and special ignition & injection mapping all contribute to excellent torque output and that classic V-twin pulse feeling
• Liquid-cooling not only allows for higher state of tune because it maintains more stable operating temperatures, but also reduces mechanical noise for a quieter engine.
• In an effort to maintain the classic air-cooled appearance of the engine, cooling fins have been added as a styling highlight.
• The short stroke engine design reduces the "height" of the engine, while the 60 degree "V" makes the engine more compact thereby centralizing mass and lowering the center of gravity for lighter, more responsive handling.
• One-piece cylinder heads feature 4-valves per cylinder to provide optimum breathing efficiency for maximum power output.
• Stylish chromed cylinder head covers.
• The SOHC valve train features 36mm intake and 32mm exhaust valves with special single coil springs for great power and torque. Valves angles are set at 20 degrees from centre.
• Specially designed roller rockers activate the valves. The rocker system allows a greater amount of valve lift without causing excessive camshaft wear and friction. The slipper portion of the rocker arm features a needle bearing which reduces wear and slide resistance (friction). The camshafts have been specially designed for use with roller rockers.
• Pent roof combustion chamber design and optimized squish area forces the fuel / air mixture toward the centre of the combustion chamber for more complete combustion and hence improved power and cleaner emissions.
• The radiator is mounted between the front frame down tubes to minimize its appearance especially when viewing the machine from the side. Even the rad hoses have been discreetly placed for a cleaner appearance. An electric fan aids in cooling during very hot weather or in stop and go traffic.
• Automatic hydraulic cam chain tensioners reduce mechanical noise and simplify maintenance too.
• Ceramic composite-plated cylinders provide uniform heat dissipation while also reducing friction and weight. The cylinders have a tapered "V" appearance to highlight the V-twin design. Cylinder bore is 100mm.
• High performance forged pistons offer great durability and reduced weight for faster engine response and less mechanical vibration.
• Crankshaft features a single crank pin design. This specially designed crank and uneven firing order helps to enhance the pulse feeling and that unique V-twin engine character.
• Single axis, left and right dual engine counter balancers reduce vibration to a minimum while maximizing rider comfort.
• Crankcase design features internal oil and coolant lines for a clean, air-cooled engine appearance. There are special piston coolers that spray oil at the under side of the pistons.
• Easy access, spin on type oil filter is located under the engine. There is no need to remove any parts to access the oil filter.
• Classic side mounted air box houses a high-flow viscous paper-type filter and adds that special styling touch too.
• Mikuni dual bore, 40mm throttle body fuel injection system with TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) and ISC (Idle Speed Control). This is a "closed loop" system that utilizes an oxygen sensor in the exhaust. The sensor "sniffs" the spent exhaust gases and feeds back info to the ECU which in turn adjusts the fuel/air mixture for maximum power with minimum emissions. The oxygen sensor is located before the mufflers, so the use of slip-on mufflers will not affect this system. Each injector features 12 holes and a dual spray pattern for better fuel atomization and more complete combustion chamber filling. There is one injector per cylinder. Fuel injection benefits include improved fuel economy; choke less operation, reduced emissions, and smoother running.
• High pressure fuel pump is located in a separate sub tank below the seat.
• 2 into 1 into 2 exhaust system features dual slash cut mufflers which provide a specially developed exhaust note that accentuates the V-Twin rumble. The engineers call it the "sound of acceleration".
• A 3-way honeycomb catalyzer is located at the entry point to the mufflers. The catalyzer reduces harmful exhaust emissions.
• Smooth-shifting, 5-speed transmission with 5th gear overdrive delivers outstanding cruising performance and reduced rpms at highway speeds for comfortable cruising.
• Clean, quiet belt drive system is extremely low maintenance and simplifies customization. The belt features carbon cords for extra strength.
• Air Induction System (A.I.S.) reduces harmful exhaust emissions (CO + HC).

CHASSIS/SUSPENSION
• Double cradle steel frame with "open neck space" provides an aggressive chopper image. This frame utilizes a rigid engine mounting system to optimize the overall rigidity balance of the chassis for superior handling. The rake is 34 degrees with a yoke offset * of 6 degrees. The frame not provides excellent handling and roomy ergonomics but also compliments the beautiful flowing lines of the entire machine.
Important Note: Raked out front fork with lots of trail generally provides good straight line stability but often results in heavy steering at low speeds. The engineers at Yamaha will not sacrifice handling for styling, so they have developed a 6 degree yoke offset angle combined with a 34 degree steering head for a total fork angle of 40 degrees. The "Stryker" provides light "athletic handling and easy steering" not normally associated with a custom styled bike. This bike was designed to be ridden ! Key numbers: 6 degree yoke offset angle, 34 degree caster angle, 109mm of trail.
• Steel swingarm compliments the frame and the overall chassis rigidity balance
• Long 1,750mm (68.9") wheelbase creates a long, low profile and solid, stable handling. This chassis offers a 45% & 55% front to rear weight distribution and is approximately 60mm longer than the standard V-Star 1300.
• The long low design means spacious ergonomics with lots of leg room, which maximizes rider and passenger comfort.
• Raked out 41mm front fork offers excellent ride comfort and compliance. Chip protectors help to prevent stone chips in the tubes. Front wheel travel is 135mm (5.3").
• Monocross style, spring preload-adjustable, single-shock, link rear suspension centralizes mass for agile handling. The linkage system provides a rising rate effect that provides excellent compliance on both small and large bumps. There are 9 positions of spring preload adjustability to suit rider preference.
• Rear shock is vertically mounted behind the engine and is tucked out of sight for that classic, clean, hard tail look. Rear wheel travel is 100mm (3.9").
• Single, large 320mm, floating front disc is squeezed by a compact twin piston front caliper.
• 310mm rear disc brake is squeezed by single piston caliper mounted to the underside of the swingarm. This design not only helps to hide the caliper but also lowers the center of gravity for better handling.

Key Features:

Engine
Air-cooled, 49.5cc, SOHC, 2-valve, 4-stroke powerplant produces smooth, reliable novice friendly power that eases the new rider up the learning curve.
Convenient, push-button electric starting makes starting a snap and takes one of the hassles out of learning how to ride.
Compact engine cases keep the engine narrow, making it easier for a smaller rider to get their feet firmly on the ground.
Lightweight crankshaft design means crisp throttle response.
The cylinder uses a conventional cast iron liner which means the engine can be overbored. The benefit is reduced costs in the event of a problem, plus the unit can be bored for adult pit bike use.
Valve design features a special "carbon cutter" valve stem which helps to prevent the build up of carbon on the stem, which could cause a valve to stick. This is an important feature when a unit will be operated at sustained low speed and low rpms. Valve adjustments are via rocker arms for ease of maintenance.
Automatic ratchet-type cam chain adjuster reduces maintenance, extends engine life and reduces mechanical noise.
Revised Mikuni VM11 carburetor ensures crisp throttle response and great fuel economy. It also features an electric carb heater for reduced engine warm-up time and faster cold starting (heater doesn't function above 16 degrees C or warmer). Carburetor changes include "Electroless" nickel plating applied to valve seat and nickel silver needle valve. These changes are to counter act the negative effects of E10 (10% ethanol) fuels.
Other fuel system changes include a revised fuel petcock, new fuel cap and new fuel cap rubber vent hose. These changes are again related to the use E10 (10% ethanol) fuels.
Washable foam air filter reduces maintenance costs.
Smooth-shifting, 3-speed transmission with automatic centrifugal clutch eases the beginner into the basics of shifting, without the complications of a clutch. The auto clutch means all the rider does is shift the foot pedal … there is no clutching involved.
Transmission ratios have been designed to compliment the engine's power band.
CDI ignition system delivers a hot, reliable spark, sure starts and requires no maintenance.
Centrifugal oil filtering system is basically an automatic system that requires no maintenance.
Lightweight, upswept exhaust system features numerous heat shields to protect young riders for hot components. This exhaust system produces a quiet exhaust note which will keep the neighbors happy. A cleanable screen-type spark arrestor protects Mother Nature from stray sparks.

Chassis
Rugged "mini-size" steel back bone type frame provides rugged durability whether being ridden by a child or an adult. The engine mounts to the frame at three points, making the entire chassis more rigid for superior handling.
Triangulated steel tube swingarm is both rugged and rigid.
Inverted 22mm Showa front fork offers a class leading 96mm (3.8") of wheel travel providing confidence-inspiring control over rough terrain. The lower fork legs feature rugged plastic protectors that help to protect the fork legs from stone chips.
Monocross single shock rear suspension with 71mm (2.8") of wheel travel delivers progressive suspension performance to smooth out rough trails.
Low 556mm (21.9") seat height provides a handling-enhancing lower centre of gravity and allows most riders to put both feet firmly on the ground for added confidence.
Long, motocross-style seat is low, comfortable and allows easy rider movements.
Front and rear 80mm drum brakes deliver strong dependable stopping power. The brake design and components are the same front and rear.
2.50x10 front and rear knobby tires feature a 4 ply design, and offer superb traction in the dirt.
135mm (5.3") of ground clearance allows the TT-R50E to tackle modest obstacles.

Features
Rugged YZ-inspired plastic body components resist damage in the event of a tip-over. This design gives the TT-R50E that big YZ look while also creating a narrow profile for easy rider movements.
Key operated, handlebar mounted ignition switch prevents joy rides when an adult supervisor is not present.
Rugged YZ style handlebar features a re-enforcing cross bar for extra strength and a foam pad to protect the rider. YZ style grips give that big bike feel.
Special sealed battery design is low-maintenance and prevents leakage even during a tip-over.
Serrated steel folding footpegs provide excellent footing even in wet or muddy conditions.
Convenient handlebar mounted paddle-style choke lever is easily accessible.
On/off/reserve fuel petcock
Cosmetic improvements for 2011 include new silver coloured surface treatment for the gear shift pedal, rear brake pedal, footpegs, rear sprocket, and engine mounting bracket.

Safety Items
